September is DADember

DADember is the St Peter’s Dads (SPD) promotion of the important role that Father Figures can play in development of children. Research shows a Dad’s engagement with his kids has positive effects on social and cognitive competence, increased social responsibility and maturity, positive self-control and self-esteem, fewer school adjustment difficulties and better academic progress.
The school has organised an Activity Calendar of short events in September designed especially for Father Figures to participate with the class. To register for any rosters or excursions, please print off and complete the Nomination Form flyer below, and send back with your child to give to their teacher. These 2 clickable links have all the details:

The other SPD event flyer for Dads and kids can be accessed via this link:
Father’s Day BBQ Breakfast – Friday 31 August

While DADember is a great opportunity to get involved, we appreciate that not all Father Figures are able to participate in class activities due to work and other commitments. We encourage all Father Figures to think about what they can do during September to support the development of their children.

St Peter’s Fathering Project Sausage Sizzle - Sunday 26 August - 8am to 4pm

St Peter’s Dads (SPD) has committed to running a fundraising sausage sizzle event at Bunnings Bayswater, 245 Collier Rd., to raise money for The Fathering Project.
The Fathering Project is a non-profit initiative running in nearly 140 WA schools, and brings a valuable body of knowledge to St Peter’s, plus great child-parent experiences, running under the St Peter’s Dads’ banner. The whole initiative is self-funded through fundraising and it’s our turn to give back and run this fundraiser as a thank you and give back to the Fathering Project.
The whole event is organised but we need volunteer dads to run and man the stall outside Bunnings Bayswater on Sunday 26 August, 8am to 4pm. We have a roster and are looking for anything from an hour to 3 hours per volunteer to prepare, cook or serve on the day.
Please contact Richard on 0407 577793 or email stpetersdads@hotmail.com with details on when and what duration you can assist. Many thanks for your help!
